Ptfe Profimed is a nonabsorbable, monofilament suture made from polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) polymer.

Use of Ptfe Profimed Suture

The Ptfe Profimed suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, cardiovascular procedures and dental use. It is not indicated for use in ophthalmic surgery, microsurgery and peripheral neural tissue.

Ptfe Profimed most often used: Ptfe Profimed is an ideal suture for dental bone grafting and implant procedures where a soft monofilament suture is desirable.Profimed Suture are most often used in conjunction with bone grafting, the placement of dental implants, periodontal surgery, and soft tissue grafts. Profimed is biologically inert and chemically non-reactive. In addition, the monofilament construction prevents bacterial wicking which is associated with braided sutures. Unlike other synthetic monofilament sutures, the material is supple and well tolerated in the mouth. Additionally, Profimed sutures are ideal for limiting inflammation, bleeding, and adverse reaction caused by stitching, especially in cardio-vascular surgery.
